Pretty Perfect! You won't be disappointed!

We had a group of 9 adults and 2 children (under the age of 5) stay at this amazing lake house. It never felt crowded and everyone had their own space and bathroom. It's rare to find all bedrooms having their own ensuite bathroom. This place was pretty perfect for us. Easy access to the dock, and we spent many hours wading in the lake with the many floatation devices that the house comes with. The A/C worked perfectly for such a big property. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lot of privacy. Karen was very responsive and helpful with all of our questions. We wanted a private chef to come in and cook a family meal for us and Karen came through with a recommendation. The private chef worked out perfectly! She even made a birthday cake for one of our guests. The 2 fridges in the house was definitely needed and used. We kept drinks in one fridge and food in the other. So many kitchen amenities! Coffee makers (drip and Keurig), waffle maker, instant pot, cake mixer, 2 ovens (one convection/microwave combo), microwave, 5-burner stove, instant hot water dispenser at the kitchen sink, toaster oven, wine fridge, smaller fridge with ice maker. You will definitely make great memories at this lake house! We hope to return every year. TIPS: Body wash and shampoo not provided so bring your own. Pick up extra paper towels/napkins, and toilet paper on your way in. We also brought paper plates so we wouldn't be washing dishes all the time :-).

Relaxing vacation on the lake

Great stay on Lake James. The house was perfect for us with a wonderful host. We had meals on the deck every day and enjoyed the dock with kayaks to make our way around the lake. Guide book with all we could ask for in terms of recommendations and easy to get what we needed. Overall wonderful vacation.

Family Thanksgiving Celebration

Our family members traveled from around the eastern US to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Our youngest was 9 months and our oldest was 90 years. The house was perfect for all of us!! We loved the decks, the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, the grill, the view, the location and the accommodations. Karen, the manager, could not have been more helpful and responsive. Great stay for all of us!

Wonderful place for a peaceful getaway. Lake James is beautiful and there are gorgeous views from every room. The house is so comfortable and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The property manager was very easy to communicate with. Didn't want to leave and will definitely return.

Lake James Property

This is a really nice property, on a great spot on the lake. House is very nice and comfortable. Outside views are remarkable. Property management is very responsive and handled communications quickly. Highly recommend you rent the boat; once you see the lake you will want to spend time on it. Nebo area is pretty quiet-which is what we wanted. Lake James State Park and Fonta Flora Brewery should not be missed.

The property was great! Really nice and clean. The owner was responsive and had a lot of information in a binder when we checked in. There are quite a few steps to the dock, but the views from the house are beautiful!

Mountain Top Paradise

The views are incredible and the home is comfortable. Of other rental properties my family has stayed at, I would say the kitchen was well equipped and had small things that make a difference like spices (salt and pepper) and cooking oil even though we brought our own. The property manager was responsive during the reservation process and for one thing we needed to reach out to her for during our stay.

We owned our home on the lake for about five years between the time we purchased it and the time we were able to move in. During this time we lived about 800 miles away, so we really needed someone who would watch over our home and take care of issues when they came up. WIth Karen as our property manager we we were always well taken care of. This applies both to the times when the property was rented, as well as the times between renters or when we briefly had the property off the market at our request. I would heartily recommend Karen for anyone needing this service.

This is a wonderful property!

What a wonderful cabin! It is spacious and beautifully decorated! The views? Spectacular! My family and I enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay a couple of extra days. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The beds are comfortable, and every area in the house is spacious. The road to get to this cabin is steep but paved. Honestly, one of the best roads that my family and I have driven through , up a mountain in North Carolina. Thank you Karen, and your team for making my family and I feel at home! We would love to come back.

Extraordinary Views!

From the moment we reached the property we were all in awe, we couldn't believe the amazing views from everywhere. The house is gorgeous, every detail was thought out, there was nothing missing or out of place. They even set up a Christmas tree and a few other holiday decor for us since we were staying for Christmas. Karen provided everything we needed for check-in, even access to videos to help with directions and how to turn on the outdoor fireplace. We ventured out into the town, small but has exactly what you need; groceries, shopping, restaurants. Even downtown was lovely, especially all the holiday lights. We drove to Asheville & Maggie Valley to go tubing at Tube World (1+ hrs each). We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely keep this home as a favorite for the next visit to North Carolina. Coolest Stay in Morganton

We’ve been working in the area for the last couple of months, have rented several properties in the area, as well as extended stays at the Fairfield Inn. This property was by far the most comfortable, well equipped, and enjoyable out of all the stays we’ve had. Thank you Karen!

Beautiful condo & great location!

I was in town for a half marathon and wanted a place to relax where I could walk around downtown. This loft was so beautiful, well appointed, and comfortable! I will def stay again. I had a little trouble getting into the unit (user error - the instructions were perfect), and management got back to me asap and checked in on me later. Absolutely lovely trip!

Excellent stay

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. We had awful weather but still had an excellent stay at the property. The house includes a large living/kitchen area and a nice basement area for the kids to play; both of which were essential with all the rain over the weekend. Covered porch and outdoor fireplace was great to accommodate rainy conditions as well. A huge benefit was the easy walk down to the lake which is rare in this neighborhood! Management was helpful and responsive throughout the process. Overall great stay!

Lovely Lake James House

My extended family and I stayed at this house in July 2023. We had a lovely week. The house was clean, and was advertised. Everything was well stocked, and was working well. There was enough space and bedrooms for the entire family. We loved that there were TVs in most rooms. Karen was very accessible and responsive to any questions. My only suggestion might be for a slightly better way to dispose of garbage, as I had to go to the local dump halfway during our stay. (Perhaps another garbage bin is needed). This wasn’t a big deal at all, as the dump is literally just a 5 min drive away. Other than that everything was perfect. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful location and home

We had an air conditioner issue which was fixed in a day. We had to clean the grill for it to work. Other than those 2 small issues the trip was perfect. Would rent again next year.

Simply Gorgeous House and Views

After our confirmed VRBO property was canceled last minute due to septic issues (thankfully it didn't happen during our vacation) I was heartbroken. But this property popped up (they had a last minute cancellation) and life was good again- I booked immediately. The house is fantastic. More than we needed (only 5 of us) but each of my kids got their own rooms and were thrilled. The views are unmatched. Windows everywhere and the house is strategically placed for inspiring sunsets. Yes, a sunset cruise is great but when you can stay on the balcony or hang in one of the swings and watch from the comfort of your space...simply perfect. Tons of sitting spaces in the house. All the rooms are good size and the kitchen had everything we needed. A wonderful kitchen island made making meals and sharing cocktails together while making said meals a real family affair. The owner was fantastic (thanks Risa!) and Karen was ultra responsive. Both highly communicative and answered all my questions. We rented the pontoon and had a wonderful experience. Smart TV's throughout so you have access to all your streaming services. Wifi worked just fine. Bluetooth speakers in house to play music. Yes, there are 101 steps down to the dock but it isn't as horrible as you may think. Obviously something to consider if you have mobility problems. The only bad part about the whole week is we had to leave-I should have booked 2 weeks. Next time!

Great weekend getaway

We had a great long weekend stay at this lake property. We did have an issue with the air conditioning not working, but Karen was very responsive and had a technician out the next day. They weren’t able to get it fixed during our stay, but we made it work with the fans available in the house. And, Karen was kind enough to reimburse us for part of our stay. It is a beautiful house with lots of space to spread out if you have a large group. Would definitely recommend it to others as long as you can handle the steps going down to the lake.

Amazing Lake House

This house and location was amazing!! It was very spacious!! It has 3 bedrooms downstairs and the master on the main level. Plenty of space for everyone. The lake was beautiful. There were kayaks for use, and the kids loved the slide on the dock. We rented a pontoon boat for the week, and were able to keep it at the dock at the house. There was fresh kettle corn and muffins upon arrival. The kitchen had everything needed to cook every meal, and also a grill to use on the deck. The host was available to answer any questions that we had and gave us a list of activities in the area. We would definitely stay here again!! Our family can’t wait to go back!!

Karen was a joy to work with. She really had my best interest at heart. I hope we can continue to work together in the near future.
